To enable a firewall to allow Knowledge Finder to work with Aries Systems Database Servers, the firewall must allow all connections to 198.115.93.* port 7570.

On a Cisco router, this would be an additional line similar to:

access-list 100 permit tcp 151.112.113.0 0.0.0.255 198.115.93.0 0.0.0.255 eq 7570
access-list 100 permit tcp 198.115.93.0 0.0.0.255 any established

where 151.112.113.0 would be where you substitute your class C network number. The second line allows our servers to reply to your clients.

Version 4.2 of Knowledge Finder has proxy server support, allowing Knowledge Finder to contact our database servers through a proxy server using the industry standard HTTP protocol to encapsulate our proprietary messaging protocol.
